Dorothy, Ange Le Carré, Chase and Beatrice all look cute but beneath their faces are experts in different fields that will make them a true force to be reckoned with. If these girls fail, the world could enter a darkness the likes of which it has never seen before. What do you think of anime school girls and anime maids? Just like in Akiba Made War, the princess principals have some cuties but these girls have weapons and abilities that make them far from just eye candy! Zombieland Saga takes the idol genre in a completely different direction, much like Akiba Made Saga. As the title suggests, instead of the usual cute idols trying to make it big, Zombieland Saga is about dead girls becoming idols and trying to make it big. Both series take what you already think you know about some Japanese and turn it completely upside down! Yes, it sounds very weird, but we can’t deny that Zombieland Saga was one of the most different anime of 2018, but that’s why we love it!

The Direct Attack Syndicate is the only reason Japan has found a new level of peace as its actions have thwarted several terrorist attacks since its formation. Using orphaned girls as a means of creating assassins called the Licorice Program, the DA is truly seen as a force of power that no one should oppose. Takina Inoue is one of Licorice’s creations, but after screwing up a situation due to her desire for perfection, Takina is fired from the DA. In addition to our question we know won’t be answered anytime soon, Licorice Recoil – again like Akeeba Made War – seems like a normal type of situation for girls in a cafe, but soon the viewer will discover the secrets behind these innocent looks. Eyes will realize the truth. Licorice Recoil is an amazing anime that was released earlier this year and is filled with eye-popping visuals and some deadly female warriors! If you enjoyed the shocking scenarios found in Akiba Maid War, we turn your attention to Licorice Recoil!

Normal school days are about to come to a head for Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki. When two girls meet a strange creature named Kyube and an even more strange transfer girl Homura Akemi, they are thrown into a strange existence. Given the chance to make any wish come true, two girls are told they must become Magical Girls, which at first sounds like fun but comes with a huge caveat. These magical girls are about to enter a battlefield full of terror and it will test their sanity from the point of no return. Perhaps needing no introduction, there is no doubt that one of the more shocking anime is Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Taking the concept of schoolgirls turning into magical girls who are usually sunshine and rainbows, Madoka Magica is filled with death, blood and shock value that will leave you gasping for air. Akiba Maid Trip has very similar situations—seriously, that first episode and the musical number at the end—but Madoka Magica is perhaps a bit more shocking. Nevertheless, if you still haven’t seen it, we wholeheartedly recommend Madoka Magica, especially if you love the flicks of Akiba Maid War!

Yoichi Isagi has given his soccer team a chance to reach the national level, a feeling that’s really killing him inside. Due to his inability to make decisions, Isagi has failed as a striker and this leads him to wonder whether he is really made to play football. As he confronts his demons, Isagi is invited to a strange event called Block Lock, where 299 others are selected to participate in a strange training course—along with him—all Strikers. If they can survive this odd feature, one of the soccer players will be given the chance to represent Japan at the Nationals! However, everyone else would never play in the Nationals and would be forced to give up on their dreams. Isagi faces a challenge but like Blue Lock, challenges are meant to test a person’s ego and their drive to be number 1! Soccer is a thrilling sport that is truly one of athleticism and skill. In Blue Lock, soccer is still thrilling but it adds layers that we rarely think about when we watch real games or other soccer-themed anime. Focusing on a mostly male cast – no cafes here – Blue Lock has similar elements to Akiba Made War as both series take common styles we know and really force you to look at them from a unique perspective. We do. Blue Lock also contains some big surprises but as it is currently airing – as we are writing this article – we will not spoil any of them. We recommend Blue Lock for those who want a more sporty anime that is not like the others in the anime world!

We knew our last entry was going to be shocking for our 6 Anime Like Akiba Made War and we saved the most shocking entry as Prison School. While it doesn’t contain the more mature moments of Akiba Made War and isn’t quite as action-heavy, Prison School contains enough raunchy adult humor, ecchi, and tons of fan service to make your desktop turn red with pools of nose. Related blood flows. Prison School is a never-ending rollercoaster of shocking moments and humor just like Akiba Made War – making it the perfect binge-watching series to watch after Akiba Made War is over! Seriously though, bring some towels or napkins when you start Prison School because you’re about to enter Opai Heaven.
