Having said that, the audience is certainly not flocking to the cinemas like before and most big movies like ‘Laal Singh Chadha’ and also Akshay’s films like ‘Bachchhan Paandey’ and ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ failed at the box-office. Recently, the actor addressed this issue at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. He said that the film industry needs to dismantle their existing system and start all over again in order to win back the audience. He laid emphasis on lowering the cost of the movie and said he would also lower down his own fees for the same. He even stressed on the fact that the production cost of the film needs to be reduced.
The actor attended the summit on the last day with Ram Charan. He further added that the audience wants something different and they should be giving them that. He said that the fault is theirs if the audience isn’t coming to the theaters. The actor said that he wants to start completely different and he’s perhaps already started it.
Akshay was last seen in ‘Ram Setu’ which released during Diwali. At the moment, he’s also in news for not doing ‘Hera Pheri 3’. Fans have been quite upset and Akshay admitted he’s as upset as them.
