Crunchyroll Expo Australia 2022 Cosplay Showcase!

Starting the day at the ANIPLEX Sword Art Online 10th Anniversary Show, we saw this amazing cosplay of Asuna in her original Aincrad outfit! That costume really deserves The Flash himself!

Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling proved popular this year, with some cosplayers choosing to couple cosplay, or go all-out and cosplaying as one of the characters played by Marin on the show itself.

As expected, the Genshin Impact continues to be a popular choice at the Crunchyroll Expo. The night before the expo, Mihoyo, the developer of Genshin Impact, announced its partnership with anime studio Ufotable, to produce an anime series based on the game — so now Genshin Impact is officially an anime, as well as an anime series. There’s also a game!

Regardless of what you think of Genshin Impact, its gorgeous character designs lead to some really inspired cosplay. Just check out the details of these outfits!

We watched My Hero Academia cosplays all day, in which this friend group teamed up to pull off the series’ popular villains—Dabi, Shigaraki, and Toga. We are really impressed with the quality of all three of these cosplays!

It wouldn’t be a con without some fan-favorite cosplays! We were pleased to see the kirpan with fate/stay night; A wonderful Violet Evergarden cosplay; And a picture-perfect Zero Two from Darling in the Franks. There was also a lot of Spy X Family cosplay around Crunchyroll Expo, with great attention to detail in the killer costume of yore!

Jujutsu Kaisen was a smash success in 2020, and fans are definitely hyped for the anime’s second season. We even snapped a picture of Nobara Kugasaki and the famous silent Inumaki!

The second day of the event at Crunchyroll Expo Australia was a dedicated Jujutsu Kaisen cosplay meetup – a great opportunity to meet like-minded cosplayers and talk about the show!

Peeking around the artist area, we found Sakura Miku representing a beautiful store of charms and stickers, and elsewhere in the hall, we found Mumi from Hololive!

Although we loved every cosplay at Crunchyroll Expo, the Chainsaw Man cosplays were among the best of the day, and this triple-threat from Aki, Angel Devil, and Reze totally looked the part.

But if we had to award an award, it would be with this amazing Chainsaw Devil cosplay (seen at the top of the article) for the incredible EasyForge, complete with arm chainsaw and a complete chainsaw head. Just look at this incredible cosplay!
