JoJo, do we need to talk about its popularity? The series has spawned millions of stuff, made live-action movies, numerous video games, and has been referenced in anime for decades. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is considered by many to be the most famous anime series and for a good reason, it is legendary! Few games produced for the series are equally amazing but JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure of CyberConnect 2: All-Star Battle is one of the best. Originally released on PS3 this 3D fighter was quite popular among JoJo fans and even fighting game players. Which is why with all these remakes and remasters, we here at Honeys Anime got a feeling that this, too, will be remastered and sure enough, it is!
Titled—Just Enough—JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R has been released to the world, but is this JoJo’s best fight ever or has DIO somehow sabotaged this amazing fighter? Let us find ourselves in this review for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R for the PS5!

As JoJo is in its 6th season—JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean—and a little further into the manga world, there’s a lot of story here, which also means there’s a lot of characters. Fighting games tend to live and die according to their combat list, but don’t worry, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R features over 50 characters, plus one original character, and much more than new stories Is. What’s even better is that many of these fighters actually play quite differently from each other, when usually, fighting games with multiple characters have a lot of “clone” characters. We wish you only try to master one character…

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is gorgeous and not surprising given the source material. All the characters look extremely detailed and are almost perfectly rendered with their fancy manga/anime scenes that are very noticeable when you strike the character’s signature attack. We think the age of the game is a bit noticeable despite the remaster work, but it’s a minor issue that’s really only found in different regions and certain character models. Still, we can’t help but smile at the art of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R and smile at what CyberConnect 2 really should have looked like a JoJo game.

In addition to the huge roster of JoJo fighters, there’s a lot more to do in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R. There’s a very long story mode that goes through the various storylines of the series—albeit a bit looser—an arcade mode, and multiple modes of battle against other real players. We think JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Game: All-Star Battle R might go awry without knowing a good part of the story but it won’t ruin your experience either. If you really need to go online to capture your jojo knowledge or fight other jojo players then playing arcade mode is the safe bet. However, online is where JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R really falls apart but we won’t discuss that right now. First, we need to talk about the most important element of JoJo’s bizarre adventure: the all-star battle r… fighting gameplay.
No fighting game can escape the fan base when the gameplay is poor. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R luckily has a decent fighting system, though it’s by no means perfect. Battles are a traditional 2 round affair with your fighter and assist him on various maps in the world of JoJo’s bizarre adventure. There are also tons of threats in the arenas—even from the JoJo story—that can lead to clutch victories when it’s really against you. Each character can use different specials and attacks which makes JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R seem like there shouldn’t be any major drawbacks. The biggest issues we see come in two forms. One, many characters can range from balanced to extremely unbalanced, as they can literally set you off the wrong way and create a one-sided fight. The other issue is that there are millions of combos found in series like Tekken or DB FighterZ. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is more of a fan-oriented fighter and we doubt many will see it as a great competitive fighter. Still, the biggest issue with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R isn’t the simple system or broken fighter planes… it’s the online mechanics.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R has some serious problems online and it’s a surprise for a game produced by CyberConnect2. Before we hate the online mechanics, let us applaud JoJo’s bizarre adventure: All-Star Battle R with different challenges each season for players to jump online and perform various feats thanks to unlockable voice lines and poses. Tries to activate it. Can be used in customization menu. We also liked that there are several modes of online play, with tournament mode, player matches, and ranks. Unfortunately, these can’t help but fight another player at times, only to have the terrible network code make some battles nearly impossible. We loved testing our stand efficiency online when JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R worked, but when it was a bad glitch… know the connection was bad. Honestly, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is best played offline, but we hope a final patch will update the network code and get us back to this statement.
