OnePlus 10T The company’s sub-flagship smartphone. This phone is cheaper than OnePlus 10 Pro but it has some features and specifications that are available only in flagship phones. In its new phone, OnePlus has given fast Android chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Along with this, 150 W fast charging support has also been given in it. Know how this phone, which comes in Rs 49,999, performs in this review.
Design: The design of OnePlus 10T is attractive. The phone looks good because its design is similar to OnePlus’ flagship phone OnePlus 10 Pro. OnePlus 10T will look like OnePlus 10 Pro from a distance. If the cover is installed on the phone, then you will not be able to differentiate between the two phones from a distance.
Even after having almost the same design, there is definitely some difference between 10 Pro and 10T. In OnePlus 10 Pro, the company used a separate ceramic piece for the camera module, while in the OnePlus 10T, both the back panel and the camera module have been molded in a single layer. This transition is something like what we have seen in Oppo’s Find X series phones. The second difference between 10T and 10 Pro is related to the finishing of these two phones.
Frosted glass was used in OnePlus 10 Pro, while glossy finish has been given in 10T. This makes the back panel of the 10T a bit slippery. If you do not like glossy and glossy panels, then you can go for the Moon Stone Black variant. It has a textured finish. The OnePlus 10T does not have the company’s alert slider like the OnePlus 10R. Rest of the things are same as before.
The power button is on the right side of the phone while the volume rocker is on the left. At the bottom, there is a USB Type-C slot, speaker grille and SIM tray that supports two Nano SIMs. Micro SD card support is not provided in the phone, so keep this in mind while choosing your storage variant. With a width of 8.8mm and a weight of 204 grams, this OnePlus phone isn’t the thinnest or lightest device in its range, but is still comfortable to use with one hand.
Display: OnePlus 10T comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display, which is sharp and vibrant. This fluid AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels is one of the best displays in this segment. However, it isn’t curved, and neither does it have automatic adaptive refresh rate controls that go up to 1Hz and 120 Hz. This panel is able to dynamically switch between 60, 90 and 120Hz.
LTPO panel was given in OnePlus 10 Pro. The screen given in OnePlus 10T is the same, which we have seen before in OnePlus 10R as well. The panel’s peak brightness goes up to 950 nits and the touch response rate is up to 1,000 Hz.
OnePlus phones have always been known for good looking screens, and the new phones also get 10-bit color depth and HDR 10+ support. The quality of the display given in the phone is superb. Colors are good on the screen, sharpness is also good and there is no lack in detailing. If you watch more movies, videos on the phone, then you will like this display.
The display remains visible even in the outdoors. You can view the content without any hassle. The refresh rate of the display is 120Hz, which is standard in this range. Due to the higher refresh rate, the phone runs very smooth while in use and scrolling. The protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 has been given on the front and back panels of OnePlus 10T, which makes the phone’s display scratch resistant to an extent.
Camera: Triple camera setup has been given in OnePlus 10T. You will see four cutouts on the camera module. It will look as if the phone has four cameras, but in the fourth cutout, the LED flash has been given like the 10 Pro. The phone’s 50-megapixel primary camera is Sony’s IMX766 sensor and has been given 1-micron pixels, optical image stabilization, and f/1.85 aperture. Along with this there is also an 8 megapixel ultra wide lens. The third camera is a 2-megapixel macro lens, whether it is there or not, it does not matter much.
The primary camera of OnePlus 10T clicks great photos. Natural colors are found in the photos taken in daylight, the details are also good. There is no loss in details even after zooming the photo. The camera locks the focus quickly and captures the frame without any shutter lag.
The ultra wide lens with 119.9 degree field of view of the phone also takes good photos. Accurate colors are also available in this and the camera exposure level is maintained. When the light is on, the OnePlus 10T’s camera not only brightens the image, but also enhances the exposure, which makes the photos better. OnePlus 10T has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Selfie photos taken with this are good.
Processor: OnePlus 10T comes with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which has a maximum clock speed of 3.2GHz. This latest processor is built on the 4nm fabrication process and is 10% faster than the 8 Gen 1 processors introduced in all flagship phones earlier this year. The new processor given in the OnePlus 10T works in conjunction with the Adreno 730 GPU and OnePlus’ largest cooling system to date.
Due to this combination, the phone uses less battery power and also stays away from the problem of throttling. The 10T handles heavy multitasking with ease. You will not feel any lag on this phone during daily use.
In gaming tests, BGMI runs heavy graphics games like COD:Mobile, Genshin Impact and Asphalt 9 smoothly and maintains its performance for a long time. Even if you would be gaming on the phone for a long time, the phone would still heat up. It also handles my favorite game, eFootball 2022, without any problems, while Samsung’s flagship smartphone S22 Ultra struggles to maintain frame rates on this game.
OnePlus 10T works on Oxygen OS 12. Which is based on Android 12. I am not a fan of the latest software from OnePlus. Now all versions of Oxygen OS come with ColorOS features, appearance and customization, but when it comes to good and smooth OS, there is no better option than Oxygen OS in the market other than Google’s stock Android.
If it is about Samsung’s OneUI, then there are many problems in it too. Therefore, I prefer Oxygen OS. Supports the fast speed of 10T 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage given in this phone. Even if you have multiple apps open in the background, streaming on Netflix and Prime Video, or using social media apps like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp, I didn’t notice any lag in the performance of the OnePlus 10T.
battery: OnePlus 10T has a 4800mAh battery. If you do normal web browsing, use social media, video streaming and camera apps during the day, then the phone can easily get up to one and a half days of battery backup.
If you are a power user, who likes to play games for a long time, do heavy multitasking, then the battery of the phone will last only for a day. Apart from this, 150W SuperVOOC charge support has been given in OnePlus 10T. Due to this, the battery gets charged from 0 percent to 80 percent in less than 15 minutes. Wireless charging is not provided in the phone.
Should you buy the OnePlus 10T
OnePlus 10T has been given the fastest processor available for Android at the moment. The display of the phone is also great. The camera is good but could have been better. The phone will not disappoint you even in terms of battery backup and charging. The OnePlus 10T may not be perfect, but it is not lagging behind in any department from the other phones in this range. In terms of fast speed and strong performance, this phone even beats Samsung’s flagship phone Galaxy S22+ in this range. If you want a flagship-level performance smartphone at a price a little less than the flagship handset, then OnePlus 10T can prove to be a good option.
