The character models are insanely detailed, the special effects will definitely give you goosebumps and the settings are incredibly detailed to the point that we were sometimes taken aback by the various locations and how eerie they looked. Very quickly you’ll learn that Hiro is not some random ogre that was thrown into the timeline reincarnated as a slick story, but actually has ties to the show’s more popular characters, Benimaru and his ogre friends. ! Remember in the first season Benimaru, Shion, Hakuoro, Shuna, and Sui’s village was being controlled by Orcs? Well, Hiro was apparently one of the ogres in that village and has a much deeper connection than you’d expect. It’s important to note that they are clearly not brothers – as the entire group calls them – but they were friends and had known each other for quite some time. There’s further back-story to their relationship and why Hiro was originally left out, but that would spoil a huge element of the timeline that ended up being reincarnated as a Slime the Movie – Scarlett Bond. Just note that Hiro’s story — and the people around him — will be shocking and confusing at times.

Hiro doesn’t waste much time in showing that he’s no slouch in battle even before his name is given. Fighting against Geld, who we didn’t expect Geld to still be able to fight as he does, and battling in his altered state were some of the highlights of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie – Scarlet Bond , No doubt ! Towa doesn’t get a lot of air time — for reasons we can’t say but quickly become clear — but we found ourselves falling for her nonetheless. We felt that the new enemy, Lacua, was a bit overbearing because he was almost comically evil and almost blatantly obvious as a villain, but most of The Time I Got Reincarnated As Slime’s villains rarely follow through with their objectives. There are deep / evil intentions. There is a “true” mastermind who will be revealed near the final segment of the film but you will have to see for yourself. All you really need to know is that we love adding Hiro/Towa because they fit the franchise without feeling foreign to the narrative.

If you’re worried that the new introductions in That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime the Movie – Scarlett Bond – will take center stage, let us put your mind at ease. Various favorites like Diablo and even Ragna get their moments of glory whether it is in a massive battle or when there are various chase scenes. Almost every major character in Slime gets some time to really let loose in Scarlet Bond and that’s always a smart move in any anime movie!

We knew That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie – Scarlet Bond would have a soundtrack to die for because we got to see some of the talent behind it like Mandarin and Stereo Dive Foundation, both of whom we got to hear dramatize the anime During NYC 2022, but wow…we are still psyched listening to this OST. That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime has never had bad songs – the opening and ending still leave us on repeat often – which certainly sets the bar high enough for Scarlet Bond. Thankfully, with the amazing talents of MindaRyn and the Stereo Dive Foundation, as well as a host of other talented people, The Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie – Scarlett Bond has the OST we need ASAP. We still don’t know which song from the movie is our favorite but all we can say is that there wasn’t a single song in the movie that didn’t make us clap or sing along to the words!

Yes, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie – Scarlett Bond is one such movie, as is clear from what we mentioned a few moments ago – and the title – but we can’t help but think that this movie Feels less like a movie. movie, and like a really long episode. The way Rimuru saves the day, the new enemy and the “secret” behind Towa’s illness, and the problems his kingdom faces are all handled in an almost episodic manner. This may be off-putting to some viewers but we feel it doesn’t devalue the Scarlet Bond one bit. A long episode is just that, a long episode and while it may make the whole story a little too predictable, there are still plenty of surprises in store for Rimuru, Hiro and Towa.

It is not uncommon for anime fans or otaku to go to an anime film despite knowing little about the source material. While That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie – Scarlett Bond isn’t going to be completely foreign to those who haven’t caught up with the series, it will be a bit head-scratching because this movie references a lot characters that span the first two seasons. Plus, you’ll miss the show’s inset jokes like how bad Shion’s cooking is despite her Master Chef title and why Gabiru has her own cheering squad/loyal subject despite being led by Rimuru. Again, Scarlett tries to keep the Bond story in an original setting, but we doubt you’ll fully enjoy the movie if you’re not at least half-acquainted with the series/light novels.
